Somewhat frustrating doctors visit this morning... feels like it was a waste of time, and of energy that I don't have to spare. My lungs are okay, not perfect, but better... he wrote me three days more of prednisone and told me to use my flonase spray (which I hate). I had my walker with me, I've been using it all week, and I don't think he liked it... I told him that since we moved I've lost ground with my exercise and I used to go to the hospital for it and he says that I don't need a gym or any kind of program, all I need to do is get up early in the morning and go for a walk every day. I told him that I was walking every day for a few months but it's too darned HOT now, didn't get a chance to tell him that I seem to be having heat intolerance issues - it's not just hot, the heat feels like a brick wall hitting my face and trying to knock me down. Hopefully that'll improve after the creeping crud is finally gone... Told him I've lost five pounds this week since we started the diabetic diet because I'm eating the same as John just with added bread and he says that's great, keep it up. Didn't get a chance to tell him about how bad my hips and knees were hurting this week (I had to use tramadol twice a day until yesterday). Forgot to tell him that I'm off my lisinopril since Monday - this new nebuliser doesn't raise my blood pressure/heart rate nearly as badly as straight ventolin, and my bp was going too low! My bp was 124/82 in the doctor's office, pulse 124, oxygen 95, and temp 99.3. Which they say isn't a fever but I very rarely go over 99 at all, so it's from the creeping crud. No antibiotic needed, it's just a virus so I just have to be patient and wait for it to creep away again... hope it's SOON - I hate being sick!
I almost tripped over my own foot on the way out of the place... I've never done that before but I was so tired my sneaker toe caught on the tile. I made John stop and get me an icecream and I felt MUCH better as soon as I ate it. I needed the carbs... now I'm home I don't even need the cane right now... The landlord was next door when we got home so we paid the rent (just picked up the check at the bank), and told him we need a handyman to put up the safety rails in the bathroom. We have to pay for it (sigh) but at least it'll finally be DONE. I really could have used the darned things this last week, then I wouldn't have had to take the walker into the bathroom with me so I could get up again.

I'm glad you have the walker, especially for when you need a hand in bathrooms without rails. Seems like John's diet suits you, too, and that you are aware of your own body's valid requests (like for carbs). so your own health will respond to your nurturing. Keep it up@ (hugs)
