This creeping crud in my sinuses is getting to me. Tuesday I thought I was all better, but I went to work with John yesterday so he wouldn't have to drive around alone, and by the time we were on the way home I was feeling completely crappy again. Used the walker all week except Tues/Wed... back to the doctor's tomorrow for a follow-up, not sure if he'll want to give me an antibiotic or just wait it out. Finished my prednisone yesterday and I can really tell... John only had to work yesterday... Monday he was officially on sick leave, but the only call he had was for yesterday. Not sure if he's officially 'off' tomorrow to take me to the doctor or if he's just hoping that he doesn't have any more work to do... my appointments at 11.30 so he couldn't do anything workwise until the afternoon anyway.

Used the crockpot twice this week to cook. I think I like it! For one thing, you don't have to stand over it, and for another it doesn't heat up the whole house like the oven. I did chicken thighs in bulk overnight after we bought the groceries and they were all cooked when we woke up in the morning. Yesterday I made pot roast... put it on at 9 in the morning at the same time as I made breakfast, and at five in the afternoon it was ready. All I had to do was thicken the gravy with a little cornstarch and make some mashed cauliflower because you have to have creamy stuff with potroast. The meat was tender as anything...

Feeling crappy now, going to go get ready for bed. Oh wow, it's eight o'clock. :P

You'll love it for bulk soup. I make applesauce in one too.

I love crockpots for pot roast, but also love making applesauce and soups and chili and many other things that can be even better after a long time. I love that it doesn't heat the house, even here in Alaska!
