Isn't it always a hair issue with brown girls? in The Everyday

Dear lord I need a good hair stylist. I haven't had a decent one since I was in elementary school and my mom and I went to these twins who were hair GODS. Seriously, I cut my hair into a mullet without my mom knowing and one of them turned my head into a goddamn work of art.

Anyway I have very hispanic hair. Very much does what it wants. Very much doesn't care what product you use it's always going to be a little crazy. The trick is to work with the crazy not against it. All the stylist I've been to either try to style my hair like a white girl or try and talk me into relaxing it like a black girl with much more kink to her hair. [Don't worry, I have never ever let anyone relax my hair.] I haven't had a hair cut in like 3 years because I'm always terrified of what's going to happen. [last time I told my stylist that I hated the crispy blow out look that a lot of people get and I literally just wanted my ends cleaned up and a little shape back in my hair...I came out looking like a poodle who got caught in a lightning storm.]

I'm actually fine not getting a hair cut. I clip the ends that look like they're going to go split and then just let the rest of it do what it wants. But I want to dye my hair. So bad. And I want to do it grey and I know it is waaay beyond my expertise to pull that off without it looking patchy or over processing it. God, I just want to look like Storm. Is that so much to ask???
