I can't pick just ONE favorite childhood book. No way! lol
I loved these books that are in the sweet pickles series that are like from the 70's that are about the misadventures of these animals in this town. There's a different book about every character. There is a unicorn, kangaroo, turtle, fish, nightingale, octopus, dog, bear, pig, jackal, quail, goose, walrus, iguana, alligator, vulture, lion, zebra, elephant, stork and a rabbit. Yeah tons of animals lol.
I also love this book called No jumping on the bed, where basically this kid with wild blonde hair keeps jumping on his bed after being told not to and pretty soon he falls through the floor taking literally everyone down with him with objects food and all. It was awesome lol.
There is this rapunzel book I love that I read as a kid, too.
I also love this book called the snowman by raymond briggs. I despise winter as everyone knows but this book was set in the winter obviously and the illustrations were beautiful. This kid builds a snowman and it comes to life and in the middle of the night, the kid goes outside and starts dancing and flying with the snowman lol.
Another favorite of mine is a book caled Ira sleeps over. Ira and reggie are best friends and ira is going to sleep over at reggie's house, only he's not sure if he wants to bring his teddy bear and his whole family gives him different opinions about it. Great book!
Lastly, another book called a weekend with wendell is another classic! The book is centered around 2 mice and one of the two mice sleep at the other one's house. Wendell is the one who sleeps over and pretty soon starts wreaking havoc lol. He makes a mess of things and blames things on the other mouse (cant remember her name) and at the end of the book, the girl's family, where wendell slept over at, says they NEVER wants him back there again. lol
I wouldn't really call this a childhood book per se but SPEAK has to be my all time favorite, or at least its up there. I was 14 when I started reading it but I didn't actually finish it until years later lol. I have read this book about 15 times and I NEVER do that lol.
