I'm not a fan of starting somewhere new .. It didn't help that for most of the 7 days I've been at my new company I've been full of cold ...Never mind, the place seems great. people and culture are good and the boss just wants things done .. So with that mandate I'm already trying to forge ahead ... of course all the induction stuff has to be completed as well .. Plus using alien systems such as lotus notes for email and calendar mean I have to re-learn the basics even before I can really get going My team seem a good bunch.. A couple of my managers are new and are also getting up to speed .. Some of the team are survivors from the restructure that we have been brought in on and so its a mixed bag of wanting to do new things versus the we do it this way .....We'll sort our selves out soon I've had my manager wince a couple of times and some of the things I say ... But I'm here to effect change and I and the team can and will do just that ....
So all good :O)
McD and I are just beginning to adjust to our new circumstances again .. Its been over 2 years now of uncertainty and not knowing what or where we would be from month to month ... now we can make plans and relax a little ....
So if I could only get rid of this cold/cough we be good ...
We are officially now in the middle of our winter... July is traditionally the coldest month ...August a close 2nd .... Not much in the way of frosts or snow in Wellington at least but cold winds and rain are now dominating our weather patterns .....

Well, congrats on your first week in the new job. I imagine you thought about it all week as you tried to process things. Nice to have some stability.
