Houston Trip #1 in Life

Since I never posted about it, I figured I should share about the short trip I took with my Mom and Cbaby. We had a good trip over, at least until we hit traffic in Houston. It was pretty bad and it was pouring down rain. When she gets nervous my mom smokes more. She was nervous, very very nervous. (I could barely see the car in front of me - the white car - without any lights on. ) They never touched their brakes until they were coming to a dead stop. It was rough. I couldn't see well enough to go either way around them, and the phone was saying that a left turn was coming. This was also the point that the phone began to die and the helpful gps said "Phone signal lost." Having the gps on strong enough for turn by turn instructions EATS the battery alive. I didn't panic, I had printed out the instructions, just in case, I handed them to Mama and asked her to find where we were. She's still smoking like a chimney - my allergies were really bad (smoke is getting harder and harder to be around) and I kept sneezing. Not gentle, Southern Belle sneezes - turning your toes inside out sneezes where flying out - in a downpour with a semi on one side , a utility truck on the other, and a car that slams on their brakes in the front - not a point you want to sneeze! lol Anyway, we made it in one piece. Because of the weather, we chose not to do anything that evening. We ordered pizza and then ordered pizza. The next day we hit NASA and the aquarium (which I got like no pictures from) here's some from NASA: Actually, first there are some pictures from the rest area that we stopped at first, then NASA: photo IMG_20140623_110831_409_zpsc8fa7a7b.jpg

This one is because Cbaby insisted that I take a picture of the snacks so we'd know they hadn't been stolen by housekeeping. (Lol she was kidding.) photo IMG_20140624_093224_295_zps04123279.jpg

The next day we spent the entire day at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We all loved it and easily could have stayed longer - but they were getting ready to close. photo IMG_20140625_123819_065_zpsc2b35596.jpg

We freaked my dad out, because in his mind, the last day is the day you get up early and go home. Instead, we got home at almost 11 pm. That made me happy. :) We had a good time. Even though it was short, I'm glad we went.

Oh, I need to spend SO much more time at the HMNS. I was only there briefly for he Lescaux exhibit. And Houston traffic is hideous enough on a sunny day--I don't know how you did it in a downpour.

How old are all your kids now?

I love HMNS. I could easily spend another day or 3 there.
