I am the worst. I haven’t written in 15 days. No bueno
I feel like a lot and nothing has gone down while I’ve been MIA. Also, I feel like this month has flown by so far. Baby T’s 16th birthday happened. I cannot believe she is 16. It is crazy. I remember bringing her to college with me! (Baby T is a cat, fyi).
G and I also went to Atlantic City which was fun. We like the Ocean casino there. I actually graduated to the 2nd tier, which is awesome because now I get some more free stuff. FOR EXAMPLE, this Emeril cutting board was a giveaway. Should be useful for meal prep. G got a portable steamer. We were hoping it was a massage gun. I was a little salty they removed some of my favorite items from my favorite brunch spot, but they kept the lychee martini so can’t totally complain.
I reorganized my living room yesterday, which was really needed but not at all intended. It all started with the need to expand my indoor garden. It has gotten pretty impressive. I have to figure out the picture feature— well, probably uploading pictures from my phone to a computer is a first step. I used to do it all the time in college, but I feel like technology is almost too advanced for this basic request now. I am the worst when it comes to technology. Anywho, I accidentally planted way too much lettuce. Free salad bases at least. Also, I set up a secondary morning desk using G’s laptop, which he doesn’t use. I am actually on it right now. Morning desk because the desk base is next to the couch. Work from Home Priorities.
Unfortunately, doing all of that yesterday means I did nothing on my actual to-do list. I mean, yes, some necessary spring cleaning in the living room was completed so I don’t really feel bad about it. I did want to do some arty things today so that’s kind of a bummer.
Food Life:
I jarred some homemade vodka sauce yesterday. It turned out really nice. In my attempts to not buy unnecessary items that I can cook, I have now crossed off tomato sauce and vegetable broth. Woot. Not sure what to do for my next item in my quest to go homemade.
Today I don’t need to do too much. Hardboiled eggs for G for the week. This bad boy is AMAZING. No joke. I also have some shrimp and chicken breast. May make some wheat berries to add to my salads (it is supposed to be chewy like a quinoa, I guess. Haven’t tried it yet). Lemon-pepper marinade? Pickle juice and Jerk chicken (seperate) marinade for chicken? Don’t hate on the pickle juice. It is amazing as a base for air-fried nuggets.
Plant Update:
I mentioned expanding the garden. It is coming along, for real. I read somewhere that the some sort of micro-organism in soil helps boots serotonin in one’s self. Serotonin is like happiness in all it’s naturalness. I wonder if it’s true. I do enjoy my indoor garden, especially now that it is succeeding more. Another nod to my grow lights.
In the hydros I have some purple and Napolitano basil and a snapdragon floor sprouting. Still have three lettuces there and I also trans-potted another lettuce. Hence the salads for days. Let’s see if I can succeed with the potted lettuce. Last year, that was a failure.
Work seems to be picking up, fingers crossed. The Masters lived up to expectations. RBC Heritage has also been enjoyable, though I missed most of yesterday. Aaron Rodgers is still not a Jet – marking one month to the day since I warned that something Jettie was going to happen. Check out my prior entry “Celebrate Good Times, Come On!” for some clarity.
Laundry calls. Unfortunately, I have to respond. Baby T threw up on my favorite Ugg blanket that Anya got me. And I sat in it. Beats on the couch directly. Through all of that - I think it will be a good day.
