The neverending cleaning of the room. in The girls.

I went through my girls' clothes because we were given some and they are out of room. Also because they are throwing everything on the floor again. I got rid of 2 black garbage bags. In the process of going through their closet I found it full of stuff they have been stuffing in there when they are supposed to be cleaning. So I pulled all of that out. The whole floor is covered. I was supposed to be checking that everyday. I get lazy. I'm tired of dealing with their room. It is supposed to be cleaned everyday before they do anything but that doesn't work if I don't check it and follow through. I have been kind of hard on them these last 2 weeks about their room and that was before I found all of the stuff in their closet. I don't know what to do now. I seem to be able to follow through for a while and then I just forget for some reason. We have always had problems keeping their room clean. It is a big problem. I have cleaned it with their help many times with the intentions of not allowing them to get it messy again. It has never worked cause I can't follow through for more than a week or two.
