I’ve decided to be a good, productive little independent contractor and move back from my laptop on the couch to my proper desk. I’ll still use the amazing Ugg throw blanket that Anya got me. This thing is so plush. It is awesome because it stayed that way even after multiple washes. (Def spilled wine on it once… oops). When I work in a desk chair, I like to put a blanket around my legs Truman-style, even in the summer. I said the Truman thing because the last time I worked at a company, I was literally called Trumette because of this. Insert eye roll here
Anyways, my tangent above is really because I have to switch keyboards, which sounds like nothing, except for my job is all about speed in typing. You don’t really notice it but every keyboard is different so the muscle memory will need to adjust and that just takes time. I’m expecting a lot of grrs and bahs today. My job has been frustrating lately. I think they onboarded too many people during the pandemic and now the contractor vs workload is off. Good for them because the turnaround is great. Bad for me because I feel like a crazy woman constantly refreshing for jobs. Hopefully, the balance will return soon. Side Note: Can you believe we thought a two-week lockdown would be the answer? I for sure was wiping down groceries. That girl, right here. I had to help my sister with remote learning for her kids, as I am a wonderful work-from-home family member. NEVER AGAIN
Food Time:
Used some of my home-grown Thai basil yesterday in some mock-Thai chicken that I made. Pretty nice. I didn’t have rice on hand, so I used some gluten-free elbow pasta. It was actually very nice, but I used too much Hoisin sauce. I give it a B, which is fine as it was the first non-recipe Asian dish that I’ve made. I’ll have the leftovers for lunch today with a little salad of greens with ginger dressing. Arugula and some of my home-grown lettuce. Yay. My thumb is becoming slightly greener.
PS Still have bits of the vocalization from “Only Time” stuck in my head. It still is a nice break. Other songs are fighting for its spot, but I am determined to let it stay. It could be worse – thinking Kars for Kids as an example
