I am so livid.
I've had this loan application in process now for OVER 45 days. The close date has been July 2 for WEEKS and I've been on top of staying in touch with the loan processor and loan officer to make sure things were on track. And I was assured that they were.
I emailed them last night asking the status. I didn't hear back until this morning when I was told that the loan is STILL with the underwriters. Then it has to go to get the mortgage insurance ordered (which evidently can take up to 24 hours. Mind you, this hasn't even been STARTED yet). THEN it has to be reviewed my the quality assurance group before it's finally sent to the closing department, who then sends it to the title company.
AND I was supposed to close in 2.5 hours. That is not happening, for sure.
The sellers are closing on their own home at ten in the morning tomorrow. They have movers and everything already lined up. So this HAS TO HAPPEN today or tomorrow.
When I closed with this bank on my first mortgage, we had to delay closing by one day because of an error made in the appraisal. I thought that was frustrating but THIS is inexcusable. And now I can't reach anyone. I've let them know that it is absolutely unacceptable if we do not close this week, but what am I really going to do? I can't go get another loan by tomorrow and they know it.
I will probably be switching banks after this, though. There is NO REASON for this.
The funniest part to me is that the loan processor really wanted us to move up the close date to June 30th. This was in the last week of June. And now they can't even make today happen.
