Good News All Around in Journal

My new niece was born last night. She gave her mom a pretty good run for her money and after 2 hours of pushing, she was born. Everyone says my labor and delivery story is unusually easy, so I expected the baby to come faster. 😅

Also last night, our well water analysis came back with a clean bill after we installed a new water filtration system and our house finally closed today. It had taken ages, but our house is finally sold. We first listed for sale in April and after some bad realtor advice, a new agent, a few BS offers, and a couple bumps in the road, we had a good offer that stuck.

It’s exciting to be able to look at land for sale again knowing we have the funds to make a strong offer. And the market has shifted into a buyer’s market. We barely made it, but we were able to sell high and now we will be buying low. I really hope we can find something that is perfect.

I would love to be able to just explore nature, forage again, and play. My dream is to have a cabin by a creek and a little art studio in the woods. I illustrate clipart and it would just feel so peaceful and inspiring to get away from the hustle and bustle, get away from people, society, expectation, and “social norms”. I want to live life how I feel it is intended.

Free. Of course living off the land is a lot of work and there will always be a need for money, but it feels like an endless cycle of turmoil to go to work everyday to make ends meet; To pay the bills and mortgage for a house you don’t really get to enjoy because you’re at work all the time. It’s an exciting time for my little family. I just hope we can find lots of acreage with a creek that isn’t too far from family.
