30th Nojovember. Thank buggery for that! in Hot town, summery in the city - 2017

I do enjoy NoJoMo but it’s hard work by the end! I’m going to do an entry of photos swiped from Google Earth. Just three fun things I’ve noticed around our town recently.

Firstly, one of our massive council estates. It’s the kind of place where residents announce it’s a lovely place to live and they’ve never had any problems yet the next street has a house with bullet holes (no kidding) in the windows. There is a beautiful. sculpture: a BMW on bricks, not a wheel in sight, and it’s been there for several years.

Anyway, this estate has an area called The Valley which is the truly dodgy area and as you go past this block of flats:

You come across this amazing view (apologies, Google Earth doesn’t have the best angle):

Essentially, the hills in the distance are to the south of the town, about 6.5 miles south of this estate and everything you can see between is, essentially, our town. I was just blown away by how amazing the view must be from the top of the flats.

Next we have this house. Now, this street view photo was taken four years ago and there are some definite changes.

Can you see the parrot hanging in a hoop near the satellite dish? Well that is still there but it has been joined by 5 more identical parrots in the window to the left of it and a massive plastic owl above it. It begs the question; did they buy all the parrots or do they now have a reputation of being the people who love parrots? Do people always buy them aaaalllll the parrots? Is their house just full of parrots in every material, shape, colour and size? This must be known!

And lastly, The Cat.

I’ve known it was around there for a long time but not exactly where until eldest and I took a different route recently to avoid some temporary traffic lights, came out of a side road and the cat chasing the mouse was on the wall directly across from the side road. I love it so much!

Thanks for sticking with me through the entire of NoJoMo or Nojovember, as I’ve been calling it. I’m sure I’ll slow down a little (lottle) now. And I’ll go back to listening to the podcast The Infinite Monkey Cage all about exoplanets this week.
