20th Nojovember. Craft fair in Hot town, summery in the city - 2017

Today was the Christmas craft fair that I’ve been hyping up on my nail Instagram and Facebook. It was a bit of a disappointment. A new person has taken over the organisation and it’s far less advertised than before so fewer people visit. Last month I didn’t have any customers, this month only one.

I really need somewhere new to work out of. I’ve approached both the local Pride shop and a vintage charity shop with my usual offer of a space to work in return for 20% of my takings. Both of them said there wasn’t enough space. Does anyone have suggestions of what else I can do?

Anyway, photos;

This is the downstairs area of the building, the craft fair is upstairs.

This is my little area, my manicure table is just to the right.

The only set of nails I did today.

This is a gorgeous lit up reindeer near the car park.

And on another note, cute catness 😍

So hive mind, what types of places can I work out of or what other ideas does anyone have to promote my nail business?

Are you advertising ? Do you have a neighborhood app you could advertise in ? Possibly could you get space in a salon or spa ? Even a gym ? Are you putting up fliers ? Just some thoughts off the top of my head . :-) Good luck with this !

All advertising as above and I don’t want a space in a hairdresser because the rent can be very expensive monthly and I can’t give it full time hours because of the kid’s needs. X

That does complicate things .

It may be too late to register, but what about Christmas Bazaars at churches and craft fairs and the like?

One of the problems is that they only tend to last two to three hours so it would be tough to get enough customers in such a short time to make it worth my while. I did today’s because it was four hours. Gel colour takes and hour- an hour and a half while extensions can be 2+ hours. X

Oh ya, that makes sense, oops!

Yep I was thinking a local hotel / gym event room. Just canvas your area when you're on a run for someone who just might have that odd space you need even in a garage/car repair place

Or a restaurant's event room

I feel it kinda needs to be somewhere with natural footfall.
