I need a new job...or way fewer responsibilities at this one lol. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I really need to stick it out in my current position. That being said...I'm gonna vent now.
So...one of my colleagues quit...vanished without a trace, won't respond to anyone, changed her number, etc. That leaves 2 home managers for 7 homes. We each picked up an extra on-call weekend. My first one started yesterday. I came home with a migraine and blood smeared on my new shirt :-( Nothing serious...I told hospital staff I wasn't staying and left my contact info after spending 3 hours with no update (client didn't want me in the back with them). I didn't hear a peep all night so went back this morning and eventually took client home. Company vehicles are taking a shit left and right. Had to switch 2 out yesterday. Today I had to figure transportation and staffing that wasn't attended to. Had to see another client off to another town, run to the pharmacy, listen to staff people vent....and then it was quiet for several hours lol. Then another client mentioned slitting their wrists (hasn't done anything yet and more than likely won't) so we have an active suicide watch. I have to go in to help on shift for a few hours tomorrow as well so fingers crossed everyone stays chill tonight.
We're fucked because a bunch of employees requested this specific weekend off and we honored the majority of it. So one call out would be a total disaster at this point...we have nobody to call for coverage. And I work all of next week and on call next weekend and all of the following week...I'm tired lol.
