Weird Conversations in Muddling Through As Best I Can

Well, things are going better than they were this time last week.
Gail is actively looking for a place; she's not happy about it, but there's no sense in dragging out the inevitable, and I think she finally realized that.
The boys are all doing well this week, both bored out of their minds, Bradley with work and Brian with summer vacation.
I'm working, probably way too many hours, but still working.
The only memorable thing to happen to me this week was kind of macabre. Most of you may know, or may not know, that in my normal job I am a correctional officer at a women's facility. We recently got a local celebrity felon in house, the Stiletto killer. I never watch the news but I understand that she made national, and in some cases international headlines. I got the dubious honor of being one of the officers chosen to escort her to and from interviews with local news media and her attorneys . During one such escort, she began to tell me how she was innocent and that stabbing her victim multiple times with the heel of a stiletto shoe was self defense. I never ask questions regarding an offenders crime, but when she elucidated that she had to hammer the heel in with her free hand a couple of times, I had wonder; how does one find a gem like this for themselves?
Just when I believe people have lost the ability to surprise me...

I have not heard of the Stiletto Killer, but... wow.
