Last night I watched my 6 year old niece so her mom could go out for a bit. She stayed up until 1 am because her head, throat, and stomach hurt and she couldn’t sleep. Even the kids melatonin didn’t help. She’s not sick, she’s anxious. Her dad moved into his own apartment last night and her parents are officially split up. Last night she told me they confuse her because they say they’re not together but then act like they are sometimes. She told me she doesn’t want them together because she is tired of the fighting. It hurt hearing a 6 year old talk like that. I had a big kid conversation with her and reassured her it was not her fault. I also talked to Sie and we agreed we should probably find some type of therapy for her.
I ended up letting her play hooky from school today. She needed a mental health day after being up so late so we cleaned up the house and had a little dance party.
The next thing I’m going to write about I don’t feel comfortable writing in this same entry so I’m going to end this here.
