Today at work I was reading through some Yahoo! News, and found an article about the wonders of hearing loops and telecoils...old technology. It just made me think about how much people don't think about hearing loss unless it happens to them. The hearing aids I have now do not even have a telecoil --which the spell-check on here is also not recognizing as a real word-- a lot of companies have replaced it with Bluetooth...which although it will be in my next pair I do not think I would actually use for the phone. I mean, really? Look at the people walking about with the giant Bluetooth in their ears and people still thinking that they are lunatics talking to themselves in public, now imagine one that no one can see. I will be using it for music though. My job doesn't allow us to have headphones in while working however there is nothing saying that I cannot use my one of my hearing aids to attach to the ipod while I keep the other on normal. ;D

But I'm getting off topic. I think what bothers me the most about this article is how it makes it seem as though hearing loops are a magical fix. Look at this guy, he has substantial hearing loss and can hear perfectly with the help of a loop on his hearing aids! It's old technology that helps slightly in difficult situations assuming that the location you're at even has it (most don't). Arg. I'm just going to end this because I'm just going to keep writing in circles.

On a completely different much lighter happier note, the pretty pink plaid Burberry necktie that I found at a thrift store last week and didn't want to spend $40 bucks on because I'm a girly-girl who doesn't wear ties was still there!! I've been kicking myself all weekend because I'm a very crafty girly-girl who loves plaid and Burberry and thought of a ton of different ways I could alter said tie that would be very cool! So, over-all YAYS for the day!!
