One thing I love about the spring and summer is how cheap and available fruits are. I have been loading my fridge with fruit lately and eating a bowl of mixed fruit and a hard boiled egg for breakfast each morning. So delicious! And very easy to make as I am giving the kids their breakfast. It's nice too because it is low in calories :)
I am thrilled lately because Cody has been learning lots of new words! I'm not sure if this is because he's going to speech therapy or because he can hear better or a combination of the two but in the past 3 weeks he has gone from knowing 10 words to probably around 30. That is epic for him! I can't believe it. The speech therapist taught him how to make the "p" sound, "g" sound and the "t" sound as well as the "e" sound so we practice throughout the day and I try to think of words that have those sounds in it and he's been doing great. Just lately he has learned: kitty, snack, nap, hat, doggie, baby, out, in, on, mommy, daddy, Bobby (we think that's funny because we don't know anyone named Bobby lol), more, all done, wawa for water, pee and poo lol. For a kid that was almost never learning new words this is huge! It is still going to take him a while to start talking in sentences but I am so happy with this progress and the best part is that it is clear that he is trying and wants to learn more words. He loves going to his speech therapist because she plays lots of games with him as she teaches him and what kid doesn't love games?
My parents had a meeting yesterday in our town and so they came to visit and they bought a condo in the building that is going to be built in the huge field behind our back yard. They actually bought it! I can't believe it. I am so excited that they are going to be close and my kids are going to grow up with grandparents right next door pretty much. They will move in in about 16 months which seems so far away but it's better than nothing. My mom is excited because they get to pick the flooring, cupboards and all those kinds of things as well as new furniture. They picked a place that will have a huge balcony looking out onto the river and are very excited to move in and explore our town. The only thing that sucks is really they won't be here for around two years from now because they always go to Florida from mid October until mid December, come home for 2 weeks and then go back for 3 months. So really we won't see them regularly until spring 2016. But whatever. It's better than living far away from them forever. Miles will be almost 3 by then and Cody will be almost 5 but we want to have at least one more kid born in the summer or 2016 approximately so it will be awesome to have my mom here to help when that baby is born and she will be thrilled to be able to see her grandkids so much. Yay!
