I listened once to Elvish songs,
Ancient melodies deep and strong.
At times I’ve sat amidst woodland deep,
and dreamt with fairies as they sleep.
I’ve seen Unicorns dance by a waterfall,
And woke at down to the tree spirit’s call.
I’ve seen flowers give thanks for sun they take,
And a field mice lay down its life for the snake.
I’ve seen sparrows dance and play on the wind
or humans and hawks who feasted as friends.
I know worlds made by Godly thought.
With beauty like this, how can Evil be sought?
Of all the tales told round the fireside,
From things we share to those we hide;
I speak of those things that magic can do –
Most magical of all, my dear, was the love I found in you.
