EDITED FOR ADDED PHOTOS OF THE RIVER WHICH SHOW THE WHIRLPOOLS

Anyway, my claim that only one person has ever come out alive of the river where I grew up was some kind of local myth to keep kids away. I looked at some newspaper archives and it seems that it isn’t strictly true. I will say though, it’s a bloody terrifying river. I’ve always hated crossing it by bridge, especially at high tide, as it swirls and flows in all directions.
