It's just a good word. I like it. I feel like I've been wanting to write more and more here, because a.) It's cathartic. b.) There are more and more people on my facebook feed that I don't want to share everything with. When I first got my FB, I was a micro-blogger to the CORE! I wrote every milestone and minutia of daily life down, one status update at a time... but now I don't really want everyone on my page to see all the things I'm thinking/saying/doing. So now it's... different.
We are having the first big BBQ of the summer tonight. Usually we've had a few before this. It's a combo birthday party for me and my brother, Alex, whose bday was last Thursday, while mine was yesterday. I made a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and M&M caterpillars (at Milo's behest) and I chopped up a whole watermelon, bought a ton of hot dogs, bratwursts, and chips. I got juice and beer and soda and called it a day. I told people to bring sides if they wanted to bring anything, and Alex is going to bring burgers and buns.
All the usuals will be in attendance- Bubb, his non-gf Jenn and her two kids (ages 4 and 1 1/2), Kimba and her little cousin Chloe, who is 9, Heather and Don and their doggie, Henry. Shelby and Tripp (dog) and Tierney and Andy, Kasin invited two neighbor kids, Aiden and Gabe. Gabe said he'd come for sure, but Aiden may or may not swing by. I honestly don't want any more neighbor kids, they're in my yard all day every day as it is. lol OH and Tiffany and Dustin should be coming, with Shawnee, who is 6. Then me and Ross and Milo. I'm bummed that Craig is out of town. Ruhi might swing by with her three kids, but I sorta hope not. She's sort of cheerleadery for the rest of us. She's sweet and laid back, but she's all Paleo diet and super concerned about her size/weight, and it'll just be annoying if she gets all preachy about it... she loves the It Works wraps too to shrink tummies.. blah blah. lol
It should be a good time! I got Strawberry Mikes, some Steel Reserve, and Sam Adams Summer Ale. Hoping there'll be enough food to go around! Also hoping a ton of people don't bring me presents, because it's Alex's bday party thing too and I know people won't bring him stuff (he doesn't really have friends :-S I told him he could invite anyone he wanted, but he didn't.) It seems strange to hope I DON'T get presents ;)
