I'm bored. I read the term paper submissions of the other guys in my class. I am supposed to make comments. Nobody cares how the sausage is made. How it tastes coming off the grill is the only thing that matters.
I don't really want to be a project manager any more.
Briefly it was fun - while I was seeing problems no one else saw and was getting bonuses every six month. In three years at BIW I solved a dozen problems they didn't even know were problems.
But the culture there erodes your soul. I would have traded every bonus for a more interesting task. I honest to god have no idea how people work there from 18 to their late sixties. It is an awful, stagnant environment. Dilbert has nothing on BIW.
Why do people do it? Because they can make pretty good money.
I wouldn't sell my soul for money. A brief relationship with a hot blonde maybe. But not money.
Nothing sadder than a retired adrenaline junkie. Everything is boring.
