Exhausticating day in Another Open Diary refugee

So freaking exhausted tonight! I got a late start for church today so John offered to get up and take me. He dropped me off and I told him I'd walk home... church ran nearly half an hour over time and it was hot hot HOT out there! Walked home with my three-wheeled walker and that would have been enough exercise for me for the day... but the a/c has not been working properly the last week or so, and at three in the afternoon John decided he'd had enough - we HAD to change the filter, and since the vent is in the ceiling we HAD to go and buy a stepladder to reach it. It would have taken two trips, one to buy the ladder, then to come home and remove the filter so we knew what we had to go buy, but he managed to get the vent cover open and pulled the old filter out so we could check the size, then off to Walmart we went. I walked around the massive store only to find that they didn't have the right size filter and I couldn't find the stepstools at all, only full-sized ladders... so we had to go to Home Depot. And of course the ladders and filters were at opposite ends of the back side of the store, and I couldn't use the motorised cart in either store because you couldn't fit a stepladder into the basket. By the time I was done there I thought I was about to fall in a heap. John wanted Subway but I told him that I couldn't get out the car to get it, so we had to get Wendys instead... I swear I walked four miles today! It'll be early to bed tonight because my legs don't want to work any more and I'm too darned tired to think...

Getting the workout that way is only satisfying in retrospect and only a bit! I wore myself out today (on my day off) by being the one to go into the store to get the fresh ground almond butter twice, The second time the grinder was out of almonds so I got ground fresh peanut butter which is less expensive but Ron loves even though peanuts are legumes and NOT for me. I'm exhausted but probably more from these sandals and Ron's negative comments that seem to have worsened after lunch. I'm glad you two are fixing the a/c and that you were able to attend church yesterday as you'd wanted.
