On Wednesday I got my hair cut. It was much needed. I went to Foiled Again, a little salon within walking distance of my house. I'd gone there a few times a couple years ago and really liked the atmosphere there, so I thought it would be a good choice. I emailed the owner, explaining my situation and asked who she thought would be a good match for me. Her recommendation was perfect. I booked an early morning appointment (figuring there would be fewer people there to breathe germs on me and give me tb :P And I was right! We were the only 2 people in there until she was nearly done with my hair) with Jess, who had been at the salon for about a month but did work previously in CA. She was so good and so sweet. She spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I wanted and what would work with my hair loss situation. She didn't have an appointment right after mine so, even though hair cuts are usually scheduled for 1 hour blocks, she spent nearly 2 with me making sure I liked what she was doing, giving styling tips, etc. She was really easygoing, helpful, caring, and, after we were done, wished me luck and gave me a big hug. I'll definitely be going back to her (and I gave her a hefty tip. Definitely want her to want me to come back too :P). I'm especially excited because she's a master colorist. We're definitely going to have some fun once I can dye my hair :D
Here's my goofy before:
Afters:
Trying to get a pic of the back
Next day with salt spray:
And how it dries naturally:
Which is probably how it will look most of the time because I am too damn lazy to blow dry it straight :P
And this morning's sexy bedhead :P
I'm really enjoying it thus far. It looks and feels SO MUCH BETTER. Unless you look really closely, you can't tell it's thinning, which makes me happy. I don't need spray on hair yet! :P I've never had short hair so it was interesting seeing how it worked with my face. I was afraid I'd look too boyish, especially since I'm generally too lazy to put on makeup or jewelry, but I don't think I do at all. I'm lucky I have such feminine lips. Washing it is hilarious! It takes so little time and, even though there's still quite a bit of fallout, it's much less upsetting that constantly pulling out clumps of loooong hairs. I'm still having fun figuring out products. I used some living proof goo of some sort today and it worked really well. Yay hair!
