As of yesterday my daughter is a High School graduate.

Beanie was in full beanie form, refused to take off her hoody before putting on the cap and gown. There were only three in the special education class that opted out of marching with the full class of 2014.

I think that to-do would have completely overwhelmed her.

She was proud of herself because of all of the attention she was getting. I am proud of her as well. She did so much better than could have been predicted 20 years ago.

After a couple week break she will start in the day program at Elmhurst. They will keep her busy.

I left Mt Ararat High for the last time a little wistfully. Close the chapter.

One of the education techs who just joined the class team reminded me of a young Audrey. Not that I ever saw Audrey before she was in her 40s. But you can do age regression and progression in your head and figure it out.

I once asked her to see pictures of her when she was a teenager. Unfortunately all pictures of her before her 20s went up in flames with her parent's house.

Left turn out of the High School drive and strait back to my town. To find the new town office and pay my annual extortion to the state of Maine for the privilege of driving on her pot-holed roads.

I love small towns. No DMV, just a 5 minute stop at the tax collector then back out the door with 2015 tags.

Today was getting gas, washing the car. Mowing and weed-wacking the lawn. Sweeping out the garage.

Basically doing anything I could find to do to avoid working on the paper due tomorrow at midnight. Including watching R.I.P.D. - which was occasionally funny, but typical of everything coming out of Hollywood lately. Well, at least there was Brooklyn Decker.

We finally got warm enough to install the air conditioner in the window in the bedroom. My rule is they don't go in until the temperature gets to 80F in the apartment. 82F now. I still need to rinse out the winter humidifier before putting it away and busting out the downstairs a/c unit.

A load of laundry finishing up, and then off to get cat litter and charcoal.

A rib eye and sugar and gold corn for the grill tonight.
