In Ohio. Drive was fantastic--sunny, blue skies, no clouds...
Didn't leave until almost noon. Mom tried not to cry. I told her I'd try to visit within the next 6 weeks, so it won't be that long. Then I'll try to visit in the 6 weeks after that. Once it's September... may be a little difficult to visit more than once every couple months.
Tomorrow Amanda and I are going to drive around Clifton, OH (Cincinnati) to see what's there. I sent an email to an apartment complex that, for all I can tell, would be PERFECT for Cori and myself. Of course, I can't fall in love until I see the damn place. There's another one a little further (still within walking distance to UC) but I downloaded the PDF online of the lease application and freaked out a little, especially when it said "Applicant's Employer" and "Spouse's employer" and yet it also required renter's insurance (gulp) and... I don't know. It looked great, though. Affordable. Can't remember pet policy... I think it said dogs cannot exceed 40 pounds. I can fudge, Evie's like 54 (but she's fat, she should really be no more than 50, she's large part Vizsla and females should be between 40-55 but just from looking at Evie she should probably be 45 pounds). But their site OBVIOUSLY catered to students, so I don't understand the employment thingy.
I also found another place that leases month-to-month. I can see good and bad of that. Good because I can probably just secure 6 months at once; bad because... I don't know... if you don't technically have a lease... eh. I don't know.
Anyway, I wanted Catie to come with us but after what happened in April, and after Amanda told me she "never wanted to see Catie again" I don't know... they'd most likely be fine in a situation like looking at an area for apartments for me and Cori, but... can't risk it.
Still don't know what to do about a job. I can look for something here in Dayton but whatever I get, even if they hire me and start me immediately, I'd only be working there a max of maybe 6 weeks. I may try a couple temp agencies--who knows. In any case I'm not looking for a "real" job here, so maybe I can just look for a retail job. We always hired summer people at my previous jobs (except Jacadi but that was a different situation). If worse comes to worse... Target. cringes
Could I even go back to Target ? Or would it feel too weird after already working there from 2005-2008 ?
I don't even own any khakis or red shirts. Mmmm... wouldn't that be awesome if Sephora hired me ? I don't know if you need to have formal cosmetic training with them. I suppose for some postions, but as a cashier or even floor associate, I would guess you don't. They probably have one or two actual cosmetologists there all the time for consultations but there's no way all the cashiers could have cosmetic background.
Granted, that would be a huge demotion for me to just be a cashier after having over 4 years' management experience, but... hey, it'd be Sephora ! Everyone always seems to be having a good time there.
