June 4th. in June Writing Challenge

welp today started out good. it was aaron's 'turn' to get joaquin this morning so i got to sleep/roll around/laze about in bed for an extra hour or so. it was fabulous. we've started taking every other day to get the kid up, dressed and fed so the other one can be a fat lazy cat in the bed and feel luxurious every other day. it's awesome. every other day.

we packed up and went to the gym and i ran 3.19 miles in 30 minutes, which was a decent enough 9:24 pace, but i was kind of dying at the end of it. so then i left the guys at the gym (aaron on his treadmill, and joaquin in his kids klub) and set up shop at coffee bean to get some important work done. i procured one small vanilla iced coffee (150 cals) and one deliciously hot egg white, kale and cheese sandwich item (390 calls). f*cking delicious.

so the gym we go to is in the mall, and the coffee bean is like the hotspot in the mall, so at one point as i'm feverishly working through a powerpoint deck, one of the 'gym moms' happens on me. and is all like !!! h-i-i-i-i !!!!

so there's a LOT of stay-at-home-moms that work out at our gym. and their little ones all play with joaquin in the kids klub. for some reason, all of these gym moms seem to have little girls 1-2 years older than him, and they all apparently LOVE the joaq. one even told her mom that he is her 'best friend.' ummm, ok! as long as he doesn't BITE any of them, it's cool that he has 8 girlfriends. (he is such a ladies' man, it's ridiculous). also, all of these ladies have befriended aaron and he knows way too much about them, and they know way too much about me. it's weird. but also, kinda nice?

anyway, she proceeded to chew my ear off a bit and wanted to know what i did, why aaron and i were both at the gym all of the time - did we work? and so on. it was so funny. i thought maybe they wondered how the hell we could all be at the gym all of the time and still make money to, you know, survive in life. but in reality, i usually go 1-2 times during the week and only really workout for a half hour, then set up shop at coffee bean and actually work.

LATELY, i've been going with them every day though, so they've definitely noticed that i'm there more often. and i'm sure their gym mom spidey senses have been tingling.

in other gym mom news, a sweet lady named kelly that aaron's been chatting with lately happened on me YESTERDAY while i was working and chewed my other ear off and we ultimately ended up setting up a play date at a fancy pool club with her husband and two little ones in mid-July which will be followed by a BBQ situation.

what is happening here?

so that's fun, and interesting and weird. GYM MOMS! i'm actually convinced that they all have crushes on aaron (they chew his ears off daily) and they're just getting friendly with me so that they can continue to crush on and flirt with him. which is cool with me. for now.

anyway, i did want to come here and talk about a Disappointing Thing that happened today, but i'm not 100% sure if it's final or not, and it's really NOT a big deal in the scheme of life, but i stupidly got excited about it and now it doesn't look like it is going to happen so now i'm bumming a bit.

so real quick: i applied for a home equity loan that would allow me to consolidate a lot of my outstanding debts for a MUCH LOWER monthly payment, allowing me to payoff some other outstanding debts. it seemed / felt kinda perfect because i would be gaining control over a situation where i feel like i am very much NOT IN CONTROL at the moment. i got a fed ex with a stack of papers to sign on monday night, and the letter enclosed seemed to indicate that things were looking positive and that i just need to sign and fed ex back the stack.

so we sent it back yesterday, and it must have arrived this morning and apparently the underwriters must have went to work on it immediately.

but then a few hours ago, my loan guy shoots over an email saying the numbers weren't actually looking good and in order to get help with my situation, i'd basically need to eliminate one of the sources of debt completely to lower my debt-to-income ratio. yeah, great. if i could do that I WOULDN'T NEED YOUR HELP, EINSTEIN! anyway, what looked super positive at this point yesterday is now looking like not so much so i'm bummed.

but Positive Things are still happening, so don't you worry, youse.
