Taped slippers in Diary

Although I have other slippers, my favorite indoor footwear is a pair of old rubber sandals. All that is visible of the rubber is half of the sole, top and bottom. The remainder is a thick layer of duct tape and packing tape thato have wound around them over the years to hold them together. Does anyone else climg to old footwear this way?
