There is a chess set that I have been wanting for a couple years now, but I dont know how to play.
My ADD, I fear is terribly standing in the way of me remembering all the rules sigh but isn’t it beautiful!! 🐬🧜‍♂️🧜‍♀️

It’s cold as the North pole here this weekend. I was walking at lunch last week, getting sun on my face and by the end of this coming week I should be back outside getting sun again. Welcome to winter in GA. But for now, I’m burning my last fire of the season and not hating it.

My niece’s wedding is coming up in 3 weeks. My sister is burning my phone up asking for stuff/my opinion. I keep telling myself “Not my monkey, not my circus”. My sister is notoriously cheap, and not because she doesn’t have the money to spend…she’s just cheap. She & I have totally different “entertaining” styles. If you leave my house after a party and you are still hungry or it’s still 2 hours before your bedtime, then that’s your fault. If you’re going to a party at my sister’s, then you’d better eat before you go, because there will be “just enough” to hold you over till you can leave and eat a real meal. And she’s the kind that will start putting food away and pulling down decorations, or start dropping hints about “everything” she has to do tomorrow to get people to leave before “her” bedtime (8:30 🙄) Anyway, my point is....because she doesn’t want to pay the rental for real plates, she’s using PLASTIC plates for dinner. They are taking the time to put together a seating chart and then serving dinner on plastic plates. Last week she texted and said “So since you’re the expert party thrower, lol! Found out last night that C (MOTG) is a NOT buying alcohol for the reception, just the rehearsal dinner. So....I’m not trying to be left over with a shit ton of wine. I’m just going to aldi and buying a red and white but how many bottles do you think I need?
I’m also buying 3 kinds of beer and seltzers. I figured there wouldn’t be that many people drinking wine but I don’t want to get too much.”

There have 101 people rsvp so far.

Knowing my sister I was trying to be conservative (now keep in mind, there will be a cocktail hour, dinner then the reception). My suggestion was at least 20/25 bottles of each, red & white. I could almost hear the eye roll in her response. I dont know why she bothers to ask my opinion. I guess she gauges how “right” she is by how much she disagrees with my answers to her questions.

I’ll start the layers of the cake & the buttercream next weekend and just put them in the freezer till it’s time to put it all together. I’m NOT looking forward to this wedding at all. And on a side note, and this is very, very petty I know. But it didn’t really matter to me, but because my boys were a little disappointed, I never expected them to be asked to be groomsmen, but I think they wanted some kind of roll in the wedding, even if it was just to be ushers…I’m sure the thought never even crossed their minds. But be rest assured when they all need something in the future I’ll hear from them then.
