All of the packages came today. :) I haven't put the cat steps/scratcher together yet, but I got the walker out of its box and assembled it because all you had to do was attach the removable back rest and adjust the handlebars to the right length. The purple is pretty and I'm going to tie ribbons onto the back rest because it's plain black. The walker is bulkier than I imagined it would be but at the same time the seat is smaller. I just fit between the handles to sit on it. I was a little taken aback at first but I think I just have to get used to it. I really didn't want to get a 'bariatric' walker because they're twice as expensive and don't come in pretty colours. The main thing I have to do is to twist my hips a little when I stand up so that I'm not coming straight up because the handgrips have 'comfort grip' things for your thumbs which stick out into the frame an inch or so on each side. I think it'll be okay once I get used to it. I haven't tried it out yet because it was thundering a lot today and very humid outside so I wasn't breathing very well (I went onto the porch for two minutes to collect some laundry and had to use my inhaler)... hopefully tomorrow the weather will be more cooperative. I stayed inside all day today until we went to get pizza for dinner.
My little turtle yard ornament is on the front steps. I just peeped out the front window to check that it's working and yep, the little turtles are glowing away... It's not a very bright light, it's just a decoration, but I think it's really cute. The birdie pull chains are cute too but one of them arrived broken so they're going to send me a replacement. I put the other one (a little chickadee) into the bedroom. Silver noticed it almost immediately and she was very curious. She sat up on the end of the bed and I could see her seriously considering whether it was something for her to try to grab... then she changed her mind which is a good thing - she'd surely hurt herself on the landing! And the pull chain isn't nearly strong enough to be a cat toy... one good tug and down it would come, and the thing cost fifteen bucks!
