So, I was an OD member since 2000; met many people there. First through Open Diary, then via email followed by telephone calls and finally actually meetings in person.
My local friends and family thought I had lost my mind when I traveled from South Mississippi to Memphis to meet people from "online". These people were far from online acquaintences - they had become close friends.
As my life change and move in different directions, I became a "one-in-a-while" ODer. So, when I recently returned to the site only to find out that it was gone "POOF", I was deeply saddened and extremely disappointed.
Although, I am still in contact with my closest OD friends, I will miss all those life stories from around the world.
