When trying to walk safely in your yard in this snow in Entries

Carry a garden shovel. Slam the pointed end into the ground. Get a grip. Take a step. Keep your feet well apart from each other.
Who cares how silly you look? You will look a lot sillier if you fall and can’t get up.
I also have the handle and shaft of a snow shovel that broke. Nice wide handle with a shaft that is perfect for my height.

I walk that way every day, summer or winter!

And take smaller steps so you don't overbalance while you set the shovel.
