28 days in Another Open Diary refugee

How come four weeks can go so darned quickly... seems like it was only yesterday that my cycle began and now it's over already. I'd swear it was 'too soon' but that's just because I didn't get PMS to warn me this month. And at least I got to enjoy my decadant chocolate birthday cake without a migraine... we finished the last pieces of cake last night.

We had a lovely day on Sunday for my birthday... John took me out on a sunset birdwatching boat trip and we saw a whole family of manatees and several pods of dolphins, plus the bird rookery... the trip leaves from a bar/restaurant that was having its 'grand opening' over the Memorial weekend, so they had a live band playing on Sunday afternoon. We were right next to it while we were waiting for the tour to start, but it wasn't too loud because the boat was behind the speakers. And we didn't have to worry about parking in the crowd of five billion cars because the bar had free valets and when we asked if we were in the right place for the boat they offered to park for us so all we had to do was walk through the restaurant and out onto the dock. Then when we got back along came our car for us to go home...

Monday we stayed home and rested, and yesterday we went to see the new X-men movie. John goes back to work tomorrow. While we were looking up the boat trip to find the details, John noticed a special dinner boat trip on a different (fancier) boat... we've never done anything like that and it's darned expensive ($60 each) but that includes dinner. I adore fireworks and it would be marvellous to get to see them from the water. If we're going to go we have to book it in the next few weeks because it fills up fast. '4th July' seems like a long way away but it's only just over a month from now!
