Woke Culture Ass-Wagons in Talk Radio

Dune is just the latest in a series of franchises that receive some new property or adaptation and what follows is a wave of easily offended reactionary conservatives leading unexamined lives. A black man in Star Wars, a trans person in Star Trek, and of course any comment on the obvious political and philosophical implications in Dune, and someone who prefers their movies grandiose and dumb will come out of the woodwork and cry about how people with opinions they dislike dare post about a movie. It’s happened to me on this very platform.

This is so overwhelmingly common that this post (written in seriousness, it appears) from Muad’Dib’s Spicy Memes for Bene Gesserit Teens (a common rhyming scheme used for group names on “leftbook”) has made it big. So much so that the group is now almost entirely dedicated to tracking its reach. Buttons are being sold on etsy. People are sending me messages, “were you there when the flounce dropped??” Here’s my screenshot because I expected a dirty delete, as these people nearly always do:

At this point I’m actually questioning if the sincerity of this post is real because the original post is still up. The writers of these posts are often so thoroughly humiliated that this hardly ever happens. But regardless if real or not, it so completely captures the spirit of real people, it actually doesn’t matter.
