Saturday in 2022

I promised myself I would write at least once a week. This is my attempt to stay on track with that.
So far, I haven’t done that great on following through some of my ‘resolutions’. I have been creative, but not everyday. I have yet to open my sketch journal but I have played around a bit with digital sketching. I was given a cricut for Christmas so I have also been playing around with that a bit as well.
I have struggled with diet and such. It’s just hard coming home and making healthy dinners after working all day, cleaning, and running the kiddos around. There have been some wins though. I made dinner every day this week and made more than just frozen chicken nuggets and French fries. We had risotto, tacos, and spaghettis this week. The plan for next week is homemade pizza, home made mac and cheese, hamburgers (tuna steak for me), and grilled chicken.
On another note- the girls are fully vaccinated. They were able to finally get their second shot this past Thursday. Not a day too soon with the massive Covid surge going on in our area. There is no contact tracing going on, no letting parents know that their are cases in their child’s class, no mask mandates, nothing. At this point, like in many areas across America, it’s impossible to even get tested due to lack of testing materials or appointments. I am not particularly worried about getting sick- I am worried about being quarantined and not working for a week- I cannot afford that at all. Aurora already tested positive right before Christmas and I had to use a bunch of my sick time. I only have so many hours left. Luckily, the rest of us tested negative the entire time.
Goals for this weekend include deep cleaning the apartment again, doing some painting and crafting, and possible getting the rest of Aurora’s Christmas present (a bearded dragon). Unfortunately, Money has been a bit tight and all the necessary items have to be purchased over time.
Also, I would like to take at least a couple of walks around with the girls to get all of their energy out.
