Colton came in my room about 3am woke me up not crying, but crying if that makes sense
Me: you ok
Colton: are you mad at me
Me: of course not
Colton: disappointed
Me: never could happen
Colton: I didn’t mean to upset you
Me: you didn’t
Have no idea what he was talking about.
Colton: ok
Colton: you miss mom
Me: more than anything
And he went back to his room. He has so much going through his head. I have no idea what to do or say. I checked on him about 15 minutes later and he was out like a light
When we woke up his mood was so great and he never said a word about last night not sure if I should’ve. I worry about putting pressure on him just yet.
But don’t want to spoil him either
Got Colton off to school since he had a bad night at breakfast, I ask him if he wanted to stay home and sleep in before I couldn’t even finish, he said no I can’t miss school, he paused and said I have a test. Who knew the secret to getting him to get up and ready for school and wanting to go was a crush?
It’s funny how many daily things trigger memories, bringing cattle to the lot, walking in the house for something you forgot.
Colton text me about 3pm
Colton: dad, can I have a friend come over after school to help move the cows
Me: that’s fine who
Colton: Just a friend
Me: who
Colton: A friend
Me: Ok, she can come have have one of her parents call me
I never got an answer back. When he got off the bus sure enough Casey was with him. Colton walked up and leaded over and whispered please don’t embarrass me. Can we go get the cows and you wait here? He has it bad. He saddles his horse and let Casey ride him, nobody rides his horse and he took mine so I couldn’t go I guess.
He helps keep my mind busy. I miss her so much.
