“Objection!”
“Sustained, please rephrase.”
The attorney scratched his head, looked toward the jury. The top branches of a flowering plum came midway to the windows behind the twelve peers. A gold crested --- fat little sparrow looking thing hovered for a moment then landed on a branch.
“… And so you found Mr. Tu ---“
“Objection!”
“Sustained.”
“And so you found something headless.”
“Objection!”
“Over-ruled.”
“It’s prejudicial your honor.”
“Only to the headless, I would direct the witness to answer the question.”
“Yes. Yes I found … something headless.”
The fat little sparrow with the golden crown lifted up with a twig in his beak. It was the most beautiful thing the attorney had ever seen.
