"Im nigerian and i find this so disrespectful. People have turned this #bringbackourgirls into a fad. Do you even know how/why the girls were kidnapped and by who? Do you even care? Or are you just posting this up because your fans will think you care and have an idea of what is going on around the world. Before these girls were kidnapped, boko haram has been terrorizing nigeria for 10 YEARS but you probably didnt know that and probably didnt know that boko haram is the group that kidnapped them. You just see everyone posting #bringbackourgirls and think its suddenly cool to be a humanitarian."
This pretty much perfectly sums up my view on this whole farce exactly. The comment comes from an Instagram user called Toni Okuboyejo after some Russian tart/"model" named Irina Shayk decided to use her powers of sluttiness for the forces of good by posing topless on Instagram to "bring attention" to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, although I think all she's managed to succeed in doing is making herself look like a clueless twat. Holding a hashtag in front of your tits doesn't make you look compassionate and caring, love , it makes you look like an attention-hungry whore with no idea what the fuck is even happening past your own self-absorbed little bubble.
And this is exactly why I have a problem with this hashtag bollocks. I said it before in an earlier entry, and I had the predictable number of defensive comments saying how it was IMPORTANT to BRING ATTENTION to SUCH HORRORS in a MEANINGFUL WAY. Yeah, well, that's what the fucking news is for, sweet-pea. Fuck your hashtags. Now maybe you'll listen when I tell you that people miss the point entirely ALL THE TIME.
TL;DR - fuck off.
