Thought I would say hello and give every one a lil update. God has been opening doors for me and keeping me busy. Preached both services in a little church north of here two weeks ago. really enjoyed getting bcak in the pulpit. Good people and love me a bunch. Even a few hugs. Last weekend spent watching my grand son play baseball. For a 12 year old playing with 13 year olds he is pretty good. Can crank that bat and plays a heck of a defense. Plays where ever the coach puts him. He is going to make a LSU standout. That's our dream anyway.
Garden is looking real good. Having to water it everyday cause we are in a drought. Not as bad as Cali and Rose but dry. Everything growing and have lots of mators. Peppers, cucumbers egg plants all have bloom. have some mators on my Ameilia palnts. (type) Figs coming on stong. Satsuma's are still to young so I pulled all the first year fruit from it to give the roots a chance to set up and grow real good.
Farm : Whew! let me tell you its been a banner year. Calves or 15 months old now and weigh about a 1000 lbs each. Tame and gentle and will stand there and let you scratch behind there ears all day. They like to stick there wet noses up the back of my shorts along my leg. I get a lot of cow snot on my shorts and leg. TMI I guess. Geese had 8 little geese hatch but the calves stepped on three so 5 left. Moma goose want let me near them. She honks and hisses and threatens to pinch me so I give her a wide space. They can draw blood with those bills they have. There the Chinese Brown types. Not mean but real protective. The goats have learned to give her lot's of space too. Grands want go near her now because of the goslings. I have hatched about 200 RIR chicks this year and about 75 Cornish game bantams. Sold most of them and saving a few for me. I like to eat the Cornish. Got me some new pigions cause the old ones would not lay. So i sold them and got me some white homers. 8 all together. So hope to have some sqab to eat before long. Goats are fat and sassy. old Moma goat had two in March but were still born. Llamas are pregnant and expecting in August. I am excited about that. Ducks or setting on eggs. Should have lil ones soon.Rabbits, Man I got rabbits. About 20 little ones and 5 grown ones. I have 6 RIR hens and a neat rooster. laying me some fresh eggs everyday. loven me some fresh brown eggs. I love egss. Eat them for any meal. Makes a great cake. Duck eggs even better cakes. I have a BB Red rooster bany and finally got him a girl frand, so now he has been busy courting her.. I guess that is what he calls it. He crows more now days anyway. Dat happens to us boys you know. He's like man, i accomplished something so I think I will sing about it. Big rooster ignores him. Haha!
Ok I have only lost 6lbs this year. I have hit a plateau. Anybody know what to do about that? Foa some total of 46 olbs in17 months. However last wek Dr. said I was no long a diabetes threat. My sugar levels were normal. So now I am working on my blood pressure. Trying to get off the medication for that. but Yay! I am no longer a pre diabetic. I was supreised by how much what we eat has to do with how we feel and function, but it does. I have never paid attention to it up to 15 months ago. I used to eat whatever I wanted. Not no more. gor to watch dem carbs. Lil bride is still just as mean as she always was. I try to bring her everywhere I go so I don't have to kiss her goodby. (kidding) Some of you have met her and know she is as sweet as they come. I trained her up right. You believe dat? gotta go. luv you guys. God Bless.
