My pain level today has been unspeakable... I got a load of laundry done this morning (we were out of underwear so I didn't have a choice) and not long after I finished drying it, the skies opened and it poured rain for the rest of the day... so I guess it's not surprising that I hurt a lot more than usual. I hope this doesn't mean I'm going to hurt this bad for the rest of the summer, or I'll be crying at the doctors begging for stronger meds (even though he doesn't prescribe them.) I wasn't going anyplace today so I resisted the urge to take any extra pain medication except for my anti-inflammatory, but I've been miserable. Ugh.
John's working an extra-long day today... I told him we'll have pizza for dinner. He deserves a treat, we haven't had it for awhile, and (though I didn't whine at him) standing in the kitchen to cook for him is unimaginable. I barely managed to make sandwiches for myself... I just need to find out which pizza place he wants to use and if he wants me to get the pizza and he'll eat it cold, or if he wants me to order Papa Johns... the local Papa John's closes at 11.30, and the 'deluxe' place shuts up shop at 9.

Serious pizza decisions--sounds a lot like the way we do pizza now that we are basically empty-nesters. Well, that and the gluten-free choice as well. I was thinking that knowing your doc doesn't prescribe pain meds seems to make the whole pain issue even worse. The anti-inflammatories would surely be helpful, right? We've been researching a bit about the way inflammation is behind so many different health problems, so now we choose to use certain foods and spices for their medicinal value. We also intentionally drink a lot of water that has been filtered with a Kangan filter that changes the pH value to 9.5, making it more alkaline to work on reducing our inflammation that IS our MS. We also take turmeric supplements every night. We should probalbly take the turmeric in the morning but at least we are each having one capsule each day with turmeric that has been shown to fight inflammation. Some studies show it helps with heart disease, some shoe is helps with arthritis, and it goes on and on. A spice supplement without side effects makes sense to me even though the pill version we buy at the supermarket is not the most economical way. We'd be better off buying turmeric powder in the spice aisle and filling capsules ourselves. Anyway, I continue to pray for you and to wish the whole continent wasn't between our homes. I'd love to go visit while we do ordinary chores that are easier in the presence of a friend.
