Moved in! in Daily life

I am all moved in, now for the unpacking!

Movers came yesterday, my son came and helped oversee things and had me go to the apartment. Everything went well, altho they brought over a china closet I am hoping to sell (settlement is not for a couple of weeks so I have some things at the house I am looking to sell rather than move them twice) but I had my nice wig on top of the cabinet and it didn’t come, have to ask my son about that. My sister came to the apartment and started organizing the kitchen but still trying to figuring things out. We also rearranged some of the furniture (she is a lot like my mom and “mom” really came out but it was all good). I have to go back over to the house today to get some odds and ends as well as cleaning out the fridge.

Saw the dr Tuesday and all is good, last cycle starts Monday and he doesn’t think I will need radiation, yeah! I had noticed some swelling in my ankles and he checked them and said they were just a bit and to make sure I kept myself hydrated. Unfortunately, Thursday, I started looking swollen in my ankles, arms and hands. Had an ultrasound Friday and no blockages. Chemo can cause water retention. Well, Saturday, my left hand really got puffy. It is much better now but disappointed that has happened cuz am so close to finishing and I really haven’t had a whole lot of issues with the chemo other than losing my hair and being tired. I haven’t experienced nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, neuropathy, so developing edema is a bummer. I always have my legs propped up but I haven’t been drinking like I should so trying to make a real effort.

I was supposed to work at the assisted living place today but I told them I could not and in fact, not to schedule me til the middle of September. I hated to do it but my energy levels were getting really low and then developing edema didn’t help. I did go and work at the courthouse half day Wednesday and am scheduled to work the next few Tuesdays for now. I will be going back to court which I am looking forward to. Hopefully my hands won’t be puffy so I can take the orders and type them up. The only issue I had was walking to the courthouse as where I parked was about two blocks away and was uphill. There is a parking deck but it is about a block’s walk. I can park next to the courthouse but it is metered parking and expensive but I think just til I get my strength back, it will be worth it. When I worked full time, there was a co worker who was morbidly obese and had knee problems . She had a handicapped parking space behind the courthouse but would park at the meters (it was slightly closer) and would just rack up parking tickets and then pay them. I do not intend to do that!
