Ooops... in Another Open Diary refugee

We slept in this morning and then I made some cinnamon rolls for brunch with frozen bread dough. Mmmm they were good. At lunch time John took me to buy some groceries... and when we got back we had to call a tow truck to rescue us from our own driveway! He likes to back in so he can drive out forwards (there's not a ton of traffic on our street but people come round the corner fairly fast because it IS a quiet curve...) I saw it coming because the banana leaf brushed over the windshield and I was about to say 'I think you're too close to the grass' when the front wheel slipped right off the concrete and wedged into the bend above the drain. Ooops... I would have expected him to make the mistake coming home in the dark or the rain, but it was a clear sunny day today. Actually he says that made him overconfident and he's a lot more cautious at night. Oh well... it didn't take the tow truck long to hook up the front wheel and lift him back onto the drive, and it only cost fifty bucks because he didn't have to actually tow us anywhere - there's nothing wrong with the car at all, it was just stuck! Hopefully that won't happen again. Some friends on facebook suggested putting rocks into the culvert, but that would block the drainage. We can't really do anything except drive really carefully.

Could a call to the city or whomever maintains the roads help:? They might be able to do something official to avoid this happening for anyone.
