First the sad news - McD's Mum passed away... Jill had been trying to get in touch with her mum the day before without success. But that wasn't unusual..But the next morning when she still wasn't answering phone calls Jill started to worry. She got in touch with her mums neighbour who was wonderful.. He didn't hesitate to go round and unable to get a response and having a spare key went in to find she had died peacefully in her sleep just as she had always told everyone she would. She was in her eighties....

From then on it was all go for Jill and her 6 other brothers and sisters as they finally came to an agreement that there was to be two services - one in Palmerston North for the cremation and then one in Gore on the South Island for her remains to be placed with her husband who had died many years before ....

Meanwhile I've taken time off and as Jill's still down south I'm looking after the menagerie and tottering around with a crook back.. I slipped in the garden and my lower back didn't like it one bit... even coughing is pain .. Impeccable timing eh ...

I'm sorry to hear of McD's loss...and your sore back.

Incredible photos, as usual.

Oh poor McD and the rest of the family. I hope your back is better soon and your last picture is a perfect image of what leaving this life and going to the next.
