Tomorrow is our 10th anniversary. It's amazing that Aaron and I have been together for a decade :) We don't really have anything planned aside from making something tasty and spending time together. We're thinking we'll have a bigger celebrationy type of thing around our half anniversary in November when I'm (::fingers crossed::) in remission and have a functioning immune system where we'll go eat somewhere fancy, stay in a nice hotel, and have some romantic alone time. My golden birthday is also in November so it should just be one giant celebratory month :D
I think I've got my fall semester schedule thingy settled but I'm not 100% sure. The professor in charge of the online Preventative Medicine class has approved me and so has the Raptor Center rotation coordinator. I'll be doing that from November 10th-23rd. It's the latest block could get and I figured that would be best to give my immune system the most time to get back to normal as birds are disgusting cesspools of disease (that I greatly love). I'm fairly certain I've been allowed into the Acupuncture rotation but I'm not 100% sure as the coordinator's email was kind of ambiguous but English also isn't her first language...I think the man in the office helping me with scheduling is thinking about checking with her tomorrow and, if not, I'll email her asking for clarification. If approved, I'll be doing that from September 27-Oct 11ish. Again, this is the latest block with an opening to give my neutrophils time to get back to normal levels but, if they aren't quite there yet, dogs and cats aren't as diseased as wildlife and it isn't a very intensive rotation. Then I have to talk to the financial aid guy to figure out loan stuff. I've already done FAFSA so at least I've made some progress there. I still need to contact my externship sites and see if I can reschedule those, but that's a task for another day... or week.
Aaron and I went for a really long, circuitous walk around our neighborhood today because it was so gorgeous out! It was a perfect temperature, slightly breezy. The trees are just thinking about budding and we saw one tree flowering. I can't wait until the others decided to flower as we have so many gorgeous pink ones in my neighborhood. Our lilacs should be doing something soon too :)
I've been taking lots of critter pics on my phone lately. I'll have to dump them on photobucket sometime in the near future and put them in an entry.
I'm getting the the point of really needing a haircut. When my hair is freshly washed it has a decent amount of volume and you can't really tell it's been falling out but the day after it looks kind of thin and lifeless. I'm thinking of going shortish because it's just going to keep falling out and I've never had short hair so why not try now? If OKed by the nurse practitioner next appointment (want to make sure it wouldn't overly irritate my scalp, but I've seen some ladies at the center with dyed hair so it might be OK? Then again, their treatment might not make them neutropenic. Dunno), I'm also going to dye it a darker brown and get some purple highlights just for funsies. I've been trying to keep my hair conservative to make a good impression at school and clinics I visit, but right now that doesn't really matter that much so I can go as funky as I'd like to. Also, looking for hairstyle pics give me something to do. I'm also open to suggestions!
By the way, thank you all so much for the support on my last entry! I love that I can celebrate good news with you all!
