Is OpenDiary trying to drive us away? in Life as we know it

I've had to close three popup windows just on the way to beginning to write this entry over at OpenDiary before then copying it in here. Twice it was telling me the game I'd selected was unavailable, how about one from a list? Then there was some Walmart ad asking for demographic info. Now that's popped up a third time.
I paid $100 for lifetime Plus membership years ago. I'm not dead yet. I guess there was no guarantee Plus would stay free of ads. So how long I write here and copy over to Prosebox, I don't know.
Elsewhere in life, I troubleshot Dour's theory that malware is the cause of the massive data volume but running Malwarebytes (his recommendation) on all three of the computers Candi and I use. Zero problems on all three. I even scanned my thumbdrive. Nothing. AVG paid version has been running on all three all along
Just to be thorough, I called the internet provider's tech line again to ask if they could check Dour's theory that someone has spliced into the cable. They say they do that only for cable TV service. They offered the same level of service we've had for half price for 6 months. I turned it down. If we don't know the cause, or the cause is Dour doing what he denies doing, then we have no way to be sure we wouldn't just go way over the same limit again.
Candi's fear is that he's doing illegal downloads and she would be held liable for that as the account holder.
We've been without internet service most of a week. Dour has been packing his laptop and Mountain Dew off to the apartment clubhouse's lounge to plant for hours and use the complimentary wifi there. The management has got to be pissed, but what are they gonna do? This is an advertised perk of renting here, and he's a leaseholder. He complains about the speed and inconvenience, but Candi has told him his solution is to get a job and get his own internet service.
She's been buying his food, now that he's run out of money.
Speaking of money, my unemployment claim has been deemed disqualified for 13 weeks, which they count in a way that includes the 15 weeks from the end of the last job through this week. And next week I'll have income from work again. So that has been a whole lot of effort for nothing.

I have OD+ and so far have not seen ads. If I start seeing them... Man, that would be the last straw..
