Imbalance in Scribblings

It is a dangerous obsession, when I feel myself pushed and pulled by you into who I always thought I was. Maybe it is true that a soul mate makes for a better you. But what if your soulmate is a stranger, or rather you are a stranger to them? What if, in this world of transparency, you see them for who they are? You know every nuance, you are almost part of them, swaddled around the notion of them. Protecting them from the world as if these dangers never existed before you. They lived before you and they will live after you as you are alone again. Surrounded by walls of fantasy you have built up to block out the pain, the mediocrity, the mundanity. And yet, being entirely ignorant, they continue unaware of the depth of feeling that taints your every exchange. A single word loaded with meaning for you, yet flippant for them. Is this imbalance forged by me or felt by you. Do you neglect it through fear or simply kindness?
