Its been a while ... The garden work has continued. part cleanup part tending to plants and borders, part harvesting and making chutneys or freezing or canning and part growing the next seasons crops ..
So we've been a little busy the past few months . . . . . . . . .
Work now is focused on getting the crops in for the winter...Kale, cabbages, broccoli, brocco-flower...and the rest.. a nice variety to keep the interest going through those dark winter months :O)
, , , , ,
Meanwhile the chickens have stopped laying ...after 8 month of good laying...We never bought an egg in that time .... We had them for breakfast...We used them in cooking... we gave them away to friends ... and then it stopped and they started moulting
. . . . . .
This isn't my favourite time of the year.. The house and garden being the wrong side of a hill we are getting to the point where the sun barely touches us... but we make do ... Brassicas and the like will cope quite well .. And we plant carefully for the rest where at least a little sun will settle on them ...
