So. Another week of funemployment. There is a battle going on between the "doing" part of me and the "being" part of me. The "doing" part cannot shut up and cannot get over the fact that we are not "doing" anything, and is pushing the "being" into the background. I have enlisted some people to remind me that it's okay to just be right now, and that not "doing" anything is okay. Some habits are hard to break.
I've been taking lots of calls and having lots of ideas and indeed I have spotted a job I am going to apply to. It's a job I would LOVE to have -- and I didn't really think that job was going to come up, at least not so soon. But it has and so I have reworked my resume to within an inch of its life and for the year 2014. Funny to think that it was basically the same resume as 15 years ago. But no longer. It's all shiny and new. Now it's just a matter of writing a bang-up cover letter and applying and then waiting.
Meanwhile I need to just be.
My college boyfriend is here with me now. We are going over to Panama City for a long weekend of donuts and naked sailing. Which is not as sexy as it sounds, since he's really let himself go and I am in the best shape I've been in since my early 20s. He's a little bit like something off of Honey Boo Boo (sorry, sorry, but it's killing me) -- overweight, sneezy, scratchy, and with an accent so thick it's hard to understand him sometimes. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to going back to the place where we used to spend so much time -- to a secret secluded beach, to his sweet family, to the best donuts on the face of the earth, and to a few days of no dog duties. It would be super if there was some sex in the mix, but I am not attracted to him.
On Sunday my friend Mary will be here, and then a week from tomorrow Ginger will be here. The beach is 8495404505495 percent more fun with a friend to share my neat discoveries with.

Oooh, good luck with the job application (as well as all your other balls in the air!) Totally laughing at the Honey Boo Boo thing...I learned that her mom is the same age as me...and she is a grandmother. Crazy stuff! Have so much fun this weekend!!!
