Of auxiliaries, pets and women in Opinions

In Lucifer, Eve observes that she was “created for” Adam. So while she was with him, she tried to mould herself to his desires. She never stopped to consider what her own desire was till Lucifer asked her. And though Lucifer was damned, she fell for him, just because she was under the illusion that she mattered to him.
Are women any different today? A woman was designed to be a mere auxiliary and she is just that. It is a painful truth but truth nonetheless. Just as a sentence sometimes bunches up several auxiliaries, men can surround themselves with more than one woman; two wives, a wife and a girlfriend, a couple of girlfriends, a wife and a couple of girlfriends and whatever combination that suits their easily injured egos.
Is there any difference between a wife and a pet in the subcontinent? Not much, I’d say. Here, when benevolence strikes and people choose to be kind to animals, they share their leftovers. A wife is expected to be happy with whatever the husband desires. If she asks for something, she is “demanding”. And we all know how unpleasant difficult pets are. A sentence yields meaning even without an axillary, a man can survive even without a woman and pets certainly aren’t necessary. One may argue that these components add value. But what is value if life is ephemeral?
I am beginning to see why most wives seek comfort in the satti savitri mindset. It is a hurtful explanation, but it is AN explanation. It is pointless to point out that certain needs aren’t being met. Perhaps it’s better to see a need as an unnecessary demand. No matter how capable a female mind is, she will forever remain in man’s debt. She wouldn’t have been even made had he never felt lonely. She can never be an essential. The “essential” has “taught” her and trained her. How can she then even presume to be the master’s equal. So whatever hand she is dealt with, she must graciously accept. And if fortune smiles upon her, then gratitude is in order. If it doesn’t, then she must remind herself that as an unnecessary being, she must not expect. No, no, no… She must only accept.
