Early Sunday in What's Happening

I’m up early this morning just laying here thinking about random stuff. I was just thinking about how on Christmas my Aunt and Uncle invited me over for dinner at my cousin’s house. I haven’t been there in probably ten years. When I walked in I saw they had one of those hardwood-style laminate floors. They must have installed it themselves because all the seams were lined up in a straight line. I couldn’t stop looking at it. I was mesmerized by the shoddy workmanship and the fact that they didn’t stagger the seams. Even the most amateur of amateurs would know to do that.

I finally emerged from my slump. I’ve been feeling great the past couple days. Sometimes when I’m in a slump I wonder if it’s a seasonal cold or some kind of bug I’m really dealing with that is draining all my energy. I asked on Facebook if there was anything going around. My post was perceived more as a joke and received mostly laughs and not very many serious answers (because of covid obviously). I kinda thought that might happen when I was writing it, but I also thought,

The common cold and other ailments still exist, don’t they?

It’s like ever since covid came along I don’t ever hear of anyone talking about getting anything else. Even my job didn’t offer the flu vaccine this year like they usually do.

I have a lot of stuff to do today. Hopefully I can get it all done.

Both my kids do virtual school but every so often they have to go into the school to do a test. We all got colds. That infuriates me. They don't usually get the flu vaccine but they did last year and are getting one this year. Even tho we don't go anywhere. The new house we moved into didn't follow a pattern with the seams like my husband usually does. Some line up every other but some are like 2 inches off. It's nice bamboo floor so it won't get replaced but I keep looking at it driving myself crazy over it.

It would probably bug me too. Lol
